Alaska has declared their sovereignty under the 10^th amendment of the Constitution. The resolution "claims sovereignty for the state under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States."

**37 other states are in the process of doing the same, in an attempt to keep the Federal government from unconstitutionally abusing its power on state matters.
